Making A Dam

So for today's activity we had to make and design a dam. I decided to make my dam like a beaver. Using the same natural resources they use too. I am not sure whether it will be effective or not. Every piece I've added to my dam has a roll for a example.

The logs are to be used as a wooden wall. It is the main part of the dam. The mud sticks everything together. The leaves stick to the mud and logs to give some extra coverage, and to make sure nothing spills out. Lastly the rocks are used to stop everything from falling. The rocks are something for the logs to lean on. It also helps some water.

Dear David

I would like to thank you for funding our trip to the zoo. You took your time to gather up the money to support our school, you provided us with the lunches to feed over 200 kids. You have shown that you care for us and for that I am really grateful. You gave up your time to care for the kids and this school, and even gave us the chance to experience something new. Edmund Hillary School appreciates all the effort and money you put in to help us. We will forever be grateful for the amount of work you put in.

During the trip everyone had a great time. We all saw animals and creatures we didn't even know existed. We were also well educated during the trip. We saw other schools, got to spend time with our friends and family. We all laughed and cheered. The zoo trip is a memory that we will cherish forever. The amount of fun and experience we gained from that trip is incredible. We learnt so much. We got to interact with some of the animals and we even got to go in some tunnels, like meerkats. We got to some of our native animals including the kiwi, We went into this dark room because kiwis are nocturnal. It was also fun because we were able to play hide and seek.

For this I thank you. The amount of work you have done for us can never be repaid. Everyone in our school thanks you for what you have done.

Smart DLO

I chose to do a DLO based on an acronym called smart. Smart stands for:

S - Screenshot

M - Move away

A - Ask An Adult For Help

R - Remove The Message/Video/Picture or block the person that sent it.

T - Talk to a Close Friend/Adult

The audience which this was made for was everyone who wants to see it.

The tools I used were a website called Wix. Wix is a very useful website creator which I now use for alot of the tasks the I do.

For the design I wanted to make it similar to a power point. I also chose images that relate to the words that I said

This was a group project made by me and my friends. Toni, Akoi, Noah. They also have their own blogs where you can check out their perspective on my work.

Note: This is not a finished product.

Matariki Is Coming?

Should Matarki Be A Holiday?

Should Matariki Be A Holiday?

As you saw in my earlier information. I gave reasons why Matariki should be a holiday. Matariki has an important significance to Maori culture. New Zealand's original culture was Maori. We should be celebrating Matariki because it is something that a lot of people celebrate in this country.

I gave many reasons earlier why Matariki should be a holiday. Matariki is an important day for Maori culture. It celebrates Maori beliefs. Due to it not being a holiday a lot of people have not been able to celebrate it. If it were a holiday many families all over the country would be able to celebrate.

There were many reasons given previously. On why Matariki is important. By now you should understand why Matariki should be a holiday. Matariki is the sign of a new year. It shows if farms will be bountiful or empty. Matariki is a sign to all the people in NZ. Not only is it beautiful but it means a lot to the people of NZ.

I hope you can give me your opinion on why Matariki should be a holiday, As I have said previously Matariki is really important, Matariki is a great thing. Even if I don’t celebrate it I understand the importance of the stars called Matariki. In my personal opinion I think Matariki should be a holiday and I hope you think so too.

Argumentation Writing

Argumentation Writing - Introduction

It was a huge mistake! Giving police weapons was a poor decision. No one understood the importance of the decisions that the kiwis made. How could people have done something like this. Weapons have been given to people who may be corrupt. We cannot trust them. After everything that has harmed NZ, People still give weapons as if it is a plaything.

If police are supposed to protect and serve. Why do they kill and curse? Police are supposed to be people of justice, but why have I never seen one police officer carry out justice once.

Earlier I gave reasons why guns are not relevant. Guns strike fear into the hearts of many people and are tools of violence. A lot of people have panicked and screamed due to seeing a gun, this causes misunderstandings, false accusations and accidental deaths. In America there are countless numbers of deaths due to being frightened, they have been killed with their own weapons.

Kiwis do not carry guns for a reason. We believe that guns will always lead to violence. Guns are tools that cause harm.Last year there was a mosque shooting. That wouldn't have been possible if those men didn't buy any guns. Guns should have been years ago.

Police should learn martial arts. Weapons always lead to violence. Sometimes there is death. Learning self defense techniques should be a qualification, to become a police officer. There was a lady that assaulted a police officer. She used his own taser against him. But if she was holding a gun he would have been dead. If he knew self defense he could have chosen to repel her.

Weapons should only be used as a last resort. Such as terrorist attacks and so forth. Weapons are weapons of destruction. They are bad things. That is why police should not have them.If weapons were a normal thing for police there would be death for no reason. As an example I chose the case of george Floyd. You never know if the cop is corrupt or racist. Police could also abuse there power.
